Four-year security guard Sharon Ratliff leaves for Wilcox High School

Security guard Sharon Ratliff, who had been working at SCHS for almost four years, voluntarily transferred to Wilcox High School at the beginning of this semester, as confirmed by Ratliff herself, Principal Greg Shelby and security guard Mary Fatuesi.

Ratliff said she wanted to meet new people, try new things and learn how other schools operate.

Shelby said he and Ratliff had been talking about her leaving for a while now, and that she was very open and honest about it.

“I fully support Sharon, and she will definitely be missed,” Shelby said.

Both SCHS and Wilcox are required to have at least three security guards, and Wilcox had been missing two for quite a while, which is why Shelby believes Ratliff will be a beneficial addition to the Wilcox staff.
This, however, leaves SCHS with only two of the three security guard positions filled, although Fatuesi believes SCHS needs four security guards on campus. Shelby has already interviewed possible candidates last week, and a new security guard will join the staff as soon as this week.

Nonetheless, Ratliff hasn’t forgotten about SCHS.

“I’ll certainly miss Santa Clara,” Ratliff said. “I wish nothing but the best for them.”
