Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin pie is a classic holiday treat, known for its simplicity and flavor. Start making this treat by beating the eggs and pumpkin puree together, then combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Gradually stir in the evaporated milk, and once combined, pour the mixture into the pie crust, bake for around 50 minutes, and refrigerate for four hours. While this recipe takes time and has many ingredients, it’s worth the investment. This was my favorite dish, and I recommend trying it to impress guests with its festive flavor.
Ingredients:
- One 9-inch pie crust
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 eggs
- 15 oz can of pumpkin puree
- 12 oz can evaporated milk
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2: In a large bowl, beat eggs and pumpkin together. In another bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger and cloves, then add to the pumpkin mixture.
Step 3: Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Once combined, pour the mixture into the pie crust.
Step 4: Bake for 15 minutes. Take it out of the oven and reduce heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for another 40-50 minutes.
Step 5: Let the pie cool completely until serving.
Cinnamon Rolls
While cinnamon rolls may not be as iconic as pumpkin pie, this dessert is a unique holiday treat everyone can enjoy. Once the dough is made, knead it and fill the rolls with cinnamon. Leave the dough to rise for about an hour or until it doubles in size. To elevate the rolls, top it with some frosting made from cream cheese and butter. This recipe is complicated to make, but it will dazzle family and friends. I urge people to take on this challenging dessert.

Snowball Cookies
Snowball cookies are a unique recipe that tend to be left out from the other iconic holiday entrees. The cookies, however, are on the same level in terms of flavor and festivities. After making and chilling the dough, scoop it into a pan and bake it for around 20 minutes. Once finished, allow the cookies to cool before rolling them in powdered sugar. Compared to the other two baking delights, snowball cookies are much simpler and less time consuming to make. If you are looking for a simple sugary treat with a small time investment, this is the perfect one.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1 cup all-purpose flour

Step 2: Mix until blended. However, be careful not to overmix.
Step 3: Cover dough and chill for at least 3 hours.
Step 4: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 5: Shape dough into balls 1” in diameter (scoop with a tablespoon).
