After months of anticipation and eye-catching trailers, Marvel fans stood in massive lines waiting to watch the newly released “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. The movie had plenty of buildup and hype, and when the wait was finally over, fans were left with a spectacular delivery.

Being the newest Marvel film, “Age of Ultron” released May 1. In the movie, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), alter ego of Iron Man, creates an artificial intelligence in order to keep the world safe. However, his new creation, Ultron (James Spader), goes berserk and believes that in order to help the world, humans must not exist. To correct his mistake, Iron Man assembles with Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) to defeat Ultron.

The film’s humor and action were well-executed and made the film enjoyable. Additionally, the cast’s acting skills were spectacular. Spader shone as Ultron and Aaron Taylor-Johnson made a remarkable Quicksilver.

In comparison to previous Marvel movies, “Age of Ultron” emphasizes each individual character, allowing more character development and keeping viewers engaged. For example, Hawkeye was rarely on screen in the first film and had almost no personality. In this movie however, he was a prominent character, and was more humorous and tenacious.

Despite the movie’s enhancing character development, the plot is geared towards recurring Marvel movie watchers. The film contained many key details and references that only people who watched the previous movie could comprehend.

In one instance, a subplot comes into play involving Thor and the use of the infinity stones. What occurs is something that can only be comprehended by veteran Marvel film viewers, and can leave new viewers clueless. This flaw is unforgivable, as it takes away from the film for new fans.

Overall though, this is a must-see film even for those who are not Marvel film enthusiasts. For fans of intense action, this is certainly a must-watch movie.
