The FIFA World Cup Draw responsible for “groups of death”

The fate of countries around the world were decided today in the FIFA World Cup Draw, three groups have been named “groups of death.”

The world of soccer froze Friday to watch the FIFA World Cup Draw where historical players such as Zinedine Zidane put the 32 national squads into groups.

Group A is composed of Brazil, Mexico, Cameroon, and Croatia. Brazil, the host country of the competition will inaugurate the World Cup against Croatia in the city of São Paulo.

The Final match of the 2010 World Cup where Spain was crowned champion, will be revived; Netherlands, Spain, Chile, and Australia share Group B, a potential group of death.

Radamél Falcao, former striker of Atlético Madrid, will help lead Colombia to the second round in Group C where they share a group with Greece, Ivory Coast, and Japan.

D for death. Soccer experts around the world have denominated this group as the group of the death; it is composed of England, Italy, Uruguay, and Costa Rica. Uruguay, England, and Italy are located in the top 15 of the World Rankings and promise a great group stage. England is also known as “the crib of football.”

After Christian “Chucho” Benítez, former Ecuadorian striker, passed away in early August, Ecuador has dedicated all of their matches to him. Now they must play Switzerland, France, and Honduras for Group E of the World Cup.

In this new edition of the World Cup, the only debuting team, Bosnia-Herzegovina, will face Argentina, Iran, and Nigeria. Argentina has world-known players such as Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez and will face Manchester City star Edin Džeko with Bosnia.

The United States is one of the teams in Group G. The other three teams are Portugal, Ghana, and Germany; another group of death. Germany is currently ranked second, Portugal has one of the most well known players in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, and on the other hand, Ghana beat United States in the last two World Cups and eliminated the Americans from the Round of 16 in 2010.

The final group is composed of Belgians, Algerians, Russians, and Koreans. Group H’s first game will be played between Belgium and Algeria at Estádio Mineirão in the city of Belo Horizonte.

The international cup is six months away and will begin on June 12th, 2014 when the new Adidas ball, Brazuca will roll for the first time on the field of Arena de São Paulo in São Paulo, Brazil.
