Post Malone, often known for his rap hits such as “Circles” and “White Iverson,” released his newest album “F-1 Trillion” on Aug. 16, 2024. Malone embraces his love for country music on “F-1 Trillion,” an 18-track album full of collaborations with famous country artists, including Luke Jones and Morgan Wallen.
On one of the album’s most popular songs, “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, Malone explores country-rock music. The track is about a relationship turning toxic and ending on bad terms.
“Been deep in every weekend, if you couldn’t tell / They say teamwork makes the dream work / Hell, I had some help,” Malone sings.
Malone shifts from an angry attitude to a more grieving one in his next song, “Pour Me A Drink,” featuring Blake Shelton. The ballad – despite being about longing for one’s ex-partner – keeps the current positive mood of the album.
“Guess I really went and messed it up again / Now my baby’s goner than the Tulsa Wind / Judgin’ by the stone sober state I’m in / Need to crack one wide open,” Malone sings.
Luke Combs joins Malone on “Guy For That,” which explores the feelings of looking for someone or something to fill the void left behind from heartbreak.
“Cause I’m lookin’ for / Someone to put her tires back into drive / And if they don’t, then I just might / Lose what’s left of my never-lovin’ mind / I’m damn near down to my last dime,” Malone sings.
Malone and Combs team up once again with “Missin’ You Like This,” another heartbreak ballad about how no one compares to that one person who got away. “Missin’ You Like This” tune switches tones from an upbeat one to a slower pace.
“She don’t know I still got pictures in that box instead of boots / You’re the whiskey in my coffee, the unanswered in my prayers,” Malone sings.
Though full of collaborations with renowned country artists, the album does include a few solo songs from Malone. “Right About You” is a tribute song to his old music style, while embracing the witty style of country.
“I made all my money singin’ so sad and lonely songs / But all my diamonds came from dirt / The more I love you, the less I hurt / And now my pen can’t find the words,” Malone sings.
The album wraps up with the solo song “Yours,” a slow yet catchy song about finally letting go of the one they love. It symbolizes Malone becoming a country artist and walking away from his original style of music.
“We’ll both love her forever, but I loved her long before / And one day, I know I’ll give her away / Buddy, that don’t mean she’s yours,” Malone sings.
No matter the genre, “F-1 Trillion” displays Malone’s skills to make great music. His new album provides a different style that still speaks to the hearts of its listeners, both old and new.
