Student Voices: What is the point of getting your permit or driving license?

As winter break approaches, SCHS students discuss why others should spend time working on getting their driving permits and licenses
Student Voices: What is the point of getting your permit or driving license?

“You really get to put yourself out there. There’s really no more limitations to being stuck at home and stuff like that. You get to explore a lot bit more and see places you’ve never really been to before.” – Andrew Catolico, junior

“I think with your license comes being more independent. You need to rely on yourself. But I think it’s important as you grow older as well because in college, you’re going to have to be able to get around a lot.” – Satveka Salgaocar, senior

“One of the best things was for baseball. I could go early or I could go to extra practices and whatever during the season. I didn’t have to wait after practice for my parents. Also, I like being the designated driver, so having a big group in your car, vibing to music and trips down to Santa Cruz.” – Connor Houle, senior

“It feels really intimidating, the whole process of getting your permit, because there’s so many forms. There’s so many courses you have to take, but once you actually start doing it, you realize it’s actually not as much work as you thought it was.” – Rimsha Faheem, junior
