On May 30, 2025 singer, songwriter and SCHS alumna NEZZA hosted a talent show where she not only sang an upcoming song but also invited various students to show their own talent and abilities.
“Everyone was hyping me up, so I really enjoyed it. I just love being back here. This is where it all started for me. This is where I learned that I loved to sing,” NEZZA said. “Hopefully, I inspire other kids to follow that dream.”
Nezza shared that before starting her performance, she felt uncertain on the level of participation she would receive.
“I’m not gonna lie. I was so nervous ‘cause I just didn’t know how it was gonna go. It’s also so hot, but everyone was so fun,” NEZZA said.
After NEZZA’s performance, she encouraged students to perform their own skills. Senior Dania Gizaw, who sang “Can’t Live Without You,” felt nervous about performing due to the talent show being outside her comfort zone.
“It was a little scary at first, but then I just let loose and I just went for it,” Gizaw said.
Understanding the stage fright, Gizaw shared how proud she felt watching other students step up to perform and show their talent as well.
“I thought they all did amazing. I think they were all spectacular, especially the girl that made up her own song,” Gizaw said.
With a successful event for the last official day of high school for the Class of 2025, NEZZA shared that she would love to return to SCHS for another show and advised seniors to remain optimistic about the future.
“I will definitely be back in Santa Clara,” NEZZA said. “To my seniors, don’t fret over the small things and just keep going and keep your head up. I wish you guys the best.”
