Lana Del Rey captivates crowd filled with flower crowns

Indie-pop singer Lana Del Rey brought her Endless Summer Tour to a sold-out crowd filled with flower crowns at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View Wednesday keeping fans pumped throughout the night.

Del Rey kicked off the night around 7:40 with alternative rock singer Courtney Love.

Love, widow of the lead singer of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, made a comeback opening for Del Rey after dealing with drugs most of her life. Love sang some of her most famous songs like “Miss Narcissist” and “Mono.”

Del Rey finally came on stage around 9:45 and the reaction from the audience was unbelievable, especially after waiting so long. As her band began playing “Cruel World,” the crowd sang along so loudly that it was almost impossible to hear Del Rey’s voice in the lawn section of the amphitheater. Her sweet demeanor onstage had fans in the front row crying and hyperventilating. After the end of the first song, Del Rey interacted with the crowd and took selfies with fans and even signed a few autographs.

As the night went on, she continued to perform some of her most popular songs like “Blue Jeans”, “West Coast”, and her biggest hit “Summertime Sadness.” Before the music for “West Coast” started, she told the audience how happy and emotional she felt being in her home-state of California. Del Rey also shared some personal stories with the audience about her tour and her upcoming album, “Honeymoon”, set to release this fall.

As the show progressed, it felt like the crowd was getting more vocal and energized. Multiple bars at Shoreline were even sold out of alcohol and beer.

After performing her song,“Video Games” Lana left the stage for a couple minutes and the entire venue went dark. She re-emerged onto the stage as the band started playing the music for, “Off to the Races” from her debut album “Born to Die.”

Lana del Rey captivated the entire crowd for her entire performance, and although the wait for her to come out was long, her final performance was spectacular.
