Girls soccer team falls short to Mountain View
The varsity girls soccer team fell short to the Mountain View Spartans this Wednesday, losing the game 0-1.
Mountain View took the lead early in the game and maintained it throughout.
“We could have picked it up in the first half, but we were able to hold the score where it was,” midfielder Jessica Brasil said. “They were just able to get one lucky goal.”
To some of the players, this was the first game of the season where the Bruins truly unified.
“We expected to play a tough team and have that competition, and because of that, this was the first game where we worked together as a team,” defender Megan Sequiera said.
Despite the loss, coach Brad Comstockwas optimistic, as he felt this was the best game of the season so far.
“The score may not show how the team has come together, but the effort does,” Comstock said. “If we continue to play like this, we can surely beat everyone else in this league.”
SCHS’s varsity girls soccer team currently has a 2-2 league record. Their next game will be on Friday, Jan. 22 at Saratoga High School.
