Eyebrows are a defining characteristic of the face.

If people don’t care about their  eyebrows, they might want to reevaluate their social life. Although many think eyebrows serve no more purpose than keeping sweat and moisture from reaching their eyes, eyebrows are now a defining trait that can welcome or ward off others.

If they’re bushy brows, embrace them. These three women are well known in their respective entertainment careers: Lily Collins, Cara Delevingne and Sofia Vergara. What do they all have in common? Aside from being super wealthy, they’re famous for their thick and natural arches. Their bold, full eyebrows intrigue others, a look that was once shunned before by all women.

Apart from the aesthetic value, eyebrows can also provide insight into an individual’s personality, according to online beauty site Marie Claire. Curved eyebrows says the person is creative, while straight eyebrows are a sign of confidence.

Additionally, it’s important to keep eyebrows relatively neat and simple since they can make or break one’s face. Unibrows and over-plucked brows may give the impression of being a messy person, or a control freak.

However, not everyone is able to grow their desired eyebrows naturally. Some have eyebrows that are born very light or too thin. For these cases, if the goal is bolder eyebrows, then filling them in with an eyebrow pencil or a shadow is a solution. Makeup lines have created various products that fit these needs.

Even if some understate the importance of brows, eyebrows definitely play a key role in one’s social life and image. While full, bushy eyebrows are in vogue, some people need cosmetics to enhance their eyebrows. The point is to maintain a natural look, but don’t be too timid to treat them or glam them up a little.

Whether you’re old or young, female or male, eyebrows need to be taken care of. If eyes are the windows to one’s soul, then eyebrows are the curtains that either encourage or discourage others to try to get to know you.
