“What Happened,” a book written by Hillary Clinton regarding the 2016 election, will be released this Tuesday.

In the memoir, Clinton discusses her whole experience of becoming the first female nominee for U.S. presidency. Being the first woman to run for that position, Clinton writes of her facing sexism, misogyny and double standards.

Clinton was one of the few women holding a seat in US Congress. She held a position of US Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. According to CAWP Rutgers, a website supporting women in politics, women comprise only 19.6 percent of 535 members of Congress. Since women do not hold even half of the seats in Congress, Clinton was under pressure of being the first one to try out for the significant position of presidency

According to USA Today, her idea of writing a book was based on a set of funny quotes collected from other politicians and people surrounding her during her 2016 campaign. Clinton explained that her decision of creating something this major just now came from the fact that during the campaign, public opinion stood on first place in her priorities.

“In the past, for reasons I try to explain, I’ve often felt I had to be careful in public, like I was up on a wire without a net. Now I’m letting my guard down,” she said to USA Today.

Looking back at the whole experience, Clinton realized what mistakes she made and what she could have done better. In “What Happened,” she explains how was it to run against Donald Trump, and said it was a “painful experience.” Clinton expresses her dislike for Trump in vivid scenes in her memoir.

According to CNN News, during the debate in Washington University, Trump was standing behind her and caused her discomfort.

“He was literally breathing down my neck. My skin crawled. It was one of those moments where you wish you could hit pause and ask everyone watching, well, what would you do?” she said.

According to the news website Rolling Stone, Clinton will go on a tour to give out autographs and explain her book live. She will be in Davis, California on October 9th.
