Grande releases an upbeat, carefree anthem.

Almost two years since the release of her last album, the “Dangerous Woman,” Ariana Grande returns with a new song called “No Tears Left to Cry.” Released on Friday, the song will be for her next album. The album’s title is yet to be announced.

The song starts off slow, but picks up the pace when it transitions into a more upbeat tone as she sings “I’m pickin’ it up/I’m lovin’, I’m livin’, I’m pickin’ it up.” This transition is very smooth.

“No Tears Left to Cry” is a great song to dance to, whether it’s at a party or alone in front of the bathroom mirror. If anyone is looking for an uplifting bop to kick off their day, this is the song for them.

This pop song is very generic, and that’s not such a bad thing. Another aspect to like about the song is how different the musical style is from Grande’s previous album, “Dangerous Woman.” Unlike the alluring tunes from that album, this song is more cheerful.

Within the first few lines, Grande sings about being in a great state of mind and getting past from emotional and traumatic events. Events which probably included the bombing that happened after her concert at the Manchester Arena in the UK last year. With this song, Grande creates yet another positive and uplifting outlet to voice her emotions.

“Right now I’m in a state of mind/I wanna be in like all the time/Ain’t got no tears left to cry/So I’m pickin’ it up,” Grande sings.

The single is accompanied by an inception-esque music video with many things to enjoy. Along with the song, there are stunning visuals, lots of enticing lights, and a simple but fashionable wardrobe.

“No Tears Left to Cry” is a song that radiates positivity. Right off the bat, the song instantly becomes an anthem. Not only that, it is also an exciting preview of her upcoming album.
