Girls’ tennis team defeated Wilcox

The Bruins girls varsity tennis team won their match Thursday afternoon against their biggest rivals, the Wilcox Chargers for the second consecutive year, with a score of 5-2.

Freshman Isabella Lai and senior Jasmine Nguyen  got the team off to a strong start with two wins.

“Throughout the game I kept telling myself that I could win and I just needed to work hard. I felt really happy afterwards because it’s not easy to win these matches,” Lai said.

The Bruins secured their victory when juniors Phoebe Ly and Megan Sequeira won their doubles match, setting the score to 4-2.

An additional point clinched the victory further, when senior Hunter Dain and Kailyn Nguyen dominated the tennis court, winning with a score of 2-1.
