Concerns for proper crosswalks brings the city and community together for a meeting

Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 22, the city of Santa Clara will be holding a meeting with the public to address the concerns for better pedestrian crossings in front of Santa Clara High School and Wilcox High School.

Because nine people were injured in the last five years at the intersection in front of Santa Clara High, many feel a proper crosswalk is needed in front of the two schools. The meeting will be a chance for community members to “speak to city representatives, give feedback, and stress the need for an improved crossing,” according to PTSA Vice President Anna Welsh’s Facebook post.

According to Welsh’s post, the meeting will be loosely divided into two sections with members of Wilcox High School speaking at 5 p.m. and Santa Clara High School speakers voicing their concerns at 6 p.m..

The meeting is open to the public and will start at 5 p.m. in the Santa Clara High School theater.
