Hayley Kiyoko is back again with a new single accompanied by a wonderfully-shot sapphic music video, garnering over 300,000 views within its first 12 hours of release. According to an interview with Flaunt Magazine, Kiyoko’s new single, “Feelings,” will be a part of her upcoming debut album set to be released next year.

Hayley Kiyoko is notable for her appearance as Stella in the Disney Channel movie, “Lemonade Mouth” (2011), as well as her song “Girls Like Girls,” which went viral in the summer of 2015. Kiyoko has since been making music and music videos that appeal to her LGBT fans.

Kiyoko’s new song, “Feelings,” has an upbeat melody, making for a great new song for one to dance alone in their room to. The song contains lyrics that display the yearning she feels when her attraction for another person kicks in.

“I over-communicate and feel too much/I just complicate it when I say too much/I laugh about it, dream about that casual touch… I’m hooked on all these feelings/I know exactly what I’m feelin’/This love asylum, like an island, just me and you,” Kiyoko sings in “Feelings.”

Kiyoko hopes her openness of her emotions will be relatable to her fans, according to a recent Buzzfeed interview. Kiyoko’s previous single, “Sleepover,” has a lonelier tone, while “Feelings” falls more into the dance-pop genre like the rest of her music.

“Feelings” is definitely a song worth listening to and her upcoming debut album is sure to be as promising as this new single.
