REVIEW: “My My My!” is an exciting preview of Troye Sivan’s upcoming album

A little over two years since the release of his debut album, “Blue Neighbourhood” (2015), award-winning singer Troye Sivan released his long-anticipated single “My My My!” on Jan. 10 as part of his upcoming sophomore album that’s currently untitled.

Prior to this upcoming album, Troye Sivan has released over four extended plays over the course of his music career of 11 years and has collaborated with other well-known artists such as Alessia Cara and Martin Garrix. Sivan is not only known for his music, but for being a YouTuber as well. His YouTube content ranges from personal vlogs to music announcements.

In his new single, Troye Sivan sings about freedom and love. The lyrics tell a story about him begging someone to stop denying the love they have for each other. “Now let’s stop running from love/Running from love/Let’s stop, my baby,” Sivan sings.

The song puts out a completely different vibe from Sivan’s other music. This new song is much happier and contrasts Sivan’s previous melancholic music. Despite a shift in moods, “My My My!” still keeps the imagery and honesty in his lyrics that make his music so appealing. Another aspect that Sivan keeps is the queerness, in which Sivan displays his attraction to the same sex in the video.

“My My My!” is only the tip of the iceberg and it promises fans that Troye Sivan’s upcoming album is going to be worth the anticipation.
